Your five-year-old is not coordinated enough to get 20 sweaty $1 bills out of her way too compartmentalized adult purse. If you were the only one in line I wouldn’t care but CLEARLY all of our lanes are open, we’re slammed, AND you just finished griping about it.

I work in a craft store which also sells home decor. We have a small niche toward the front which leads to the window display and serves as an overflow for small furniture. There’s a freestanding screen blocking all this, with a sign that reads “Employees only beyond this point.”

One day a lady brings in her unruly child which she of course doesn’t pay any attention to. He suddenly runs into the niche and my coworker catches him just as he was trying to move away the screen. She tells him “Oh, please don’t play in this area, it’s dangerous!” 

The mother then says “Don’t tell my child what to do!” My coworker tried explaining that he could get hurt if he plays where there are furniture pieces, but she interrupts her and says “We’re taking our business elsewhere!” *facepalm*

Bad parenting

my manager informed me the other day that people come to her and tell them they don’t want to do what i asked them to do (to which she replies “ok well..could you do it anyway”)

i’m a crew trainer so technically i can’t order someone to do anything but being one of the four (out of 30+) people who have been there longest, i feel as though i have some pull. most people will listen to me. especially since i trained most of them. i close the store a lot and there is a lot of cleaning involved. the longer it takes to clean the longer i have to be there.

but again, i shouldn’t have to tell them what to do.

they should know what they need to do and do it.

We’ve been doing returns at the bookstore I work at for the past couple of weeks, and my assistant manager has told me to come in whenever to work on them. It it means not having to deal with customers and wear whatever I want, I’m totally willing to come in 3 hours before we open. 

Yes yes yes!!! Willing to work overnight during remodel for that reason
